If I purchase a car at an auction and book a shipment through HaulMatch, who is responsible for the late fee if the car isn’t picked up within 4 days?

Each transport company has its own policy regarding pick-up days, and the customer is responsible for any storage fees. We recommend contacting HaulMatch.com to understand their specific policy.

What does Biohazard mean in car auctions?

Different industries have different standards for the word. In the car auction business, it means any vehicle where the occupants’ blood stained the interior—be it a few drops or an open gash. If a person had the misfortune of bleeding or dying in their car, it would be announced at an auction as a ‘Biohazard.’ Learn more about the reasons for salvaging. Read more

I live in Illinois and would like to purchase from Austin, Texas. Are there any restrictions I should be aware of?

Unfortunately we do not register the items and the laws are different in every state. We suggest you research the laws in your state. However when logging in on the site and looking at an item you will see the bid button if the item is blocked it will tell you to contact our office. Normally those items require a specific recording for access.

Is this a true proxy bid system or do I have to keep hitting the bid button once the vehicle is up live?

There are several ways to bid first you can place a prebid. Meaning you would place your maximum bid on the item keeping in mind there are other brokers who will be bidding live as well on the item. If you close with the highest bid we will bid up to that maximum bid at the auction. You also have the option to place a live bid on the item once it comes up live. If you are bidding live you would have to submit a deposit and once the item comes up you will be able to bid live up to your bidding limit. The last option is you can prebid and join the live bid as well.

Can I bid beyond my desired bid limit as the auction is in progress?

If the item goes above your bidding limit you will not be able to bid or have enough time to increase your deposit. We advise our customers to increase their bidding limit before the item comes up at that live auction.
