RideSafely’s Guide to a Seamless Payment Process
Payment Terms
- Balances can only be settled through bank wire transfer, cashier’s check, or money order. Personal checks and Western Union are not accepted.
- If you’re outside the United States or face payment delays, consider prepaying the total amount before offering or be ready for daily late fees.
- RideSafely imposes a standard fee of $299 for all vehicles priced over $1,000.
- An $85 Documentation Fee applies to each vehicle purchase, covering essential title transfers and mailing.
- Insurance auction fees also apply, varying based on the vehicle’s purchase price, auction type, and location.
- For your convenience, each listing features an integrated calculator to estimate insurance auction fees and our standard fee.
Balance Due
- Customers are required to settle the balance due in full within 2 business days following the sale confirmation notification.
- Upon acceptance of an offer by the Insurance Auction, a Sale Confirmation Notification is sent via email to the customer, and the customer’s invoice is updated on RideSafely’s website.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to check their updated invoices by navigating to “My Account” and then “My Transactions”, as well as their email for updates.
- Accounts with payments made after the specified due date will incur a Late Fee of $100 per day for each item.
Late Payment Fees and Penalties
- Vehicles unpaid within 2 business days of the invoice date will incur a late fee of $100 per day.
- Vehicles remaining unpaid for a week will be re-listed, resulting in the suspension of your account and forfeiture of your deposit.
Storage Fees
- Insurance auctions offer complimentary storage for items purchased for up to 4 calendar days, starting from the purchase date.
- Beyond this period, a Storage Fee ranging from $25 to $50 per day, per item will be incurred, inclusive of weekends.
- Vehicles not retrieved within 2 weeks from the auction date may be deemed abandoned by the Insurance auction and are subject to resale without any compensation to the customer. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure timely pickup of your vehicle.
Additional Fees and Services
- A $20 Forklift Loading Fee may be applicable, typically for inoperable vehicles.
- Actual loading and storage fees can be settled by customers directly at the auction upon vehicle pickup.
- Alternatively, customers have the option to pay storage and loading fees through RideSafely, and we will handle the payment to the insurance auction on your behalf.
- Please note, that if there is an outstanding balance on your account, your vehicle will not be released. Additionally, RideSafely does not offer crating or pallet provisions for any items.
Pickup, Shipping, or Delivery
- Customers are welcome to personally pick up their purchased items without any additional fees.
- Many customers opt for the convenience of a transportation company or broker to manage the shipment of their vehicles. For reliable car shipping services, we suggest checking out HaulMatch.com.
