Born in the USA: Toyota Camry Earns “Most American Car” Honor

For starters, the automotive experts at Cars.com found that the 2016 Toyota Camry had a 75 percent domestic content rating, a far higher percentage than many of its competitors and more than many models from American based manufacturers.
The award committee at Cars.com also looked at a number of other factors in determining the “Most American Car” award, including the final assembly point and overall vehicle sales. Once again, the 2016 Toyota Camry scored big points, besting competitors from GMC and Chevy as well as several other Asian manufacturers.
