If a vehicle is listed as “clear title, runs and drives,” can it be driven?

Please note that the term “runs and drives” at auction indicates that the vehicle was able to start and move forward and backward. However, insurance auctions do not provide guarantees regarding the extent to which the vehicle can run and drive or the duration it remained functional after this basic test. Additionally, RideSafely advises against driving vehicles out of the auction facility for several reasons:

  • Legality: It is illegal to drive an unregistered vehicle.
  • Safety: Driving the vehicle could be unsafe without comprehensive knowledge of its mechanical condition.

We recommend arranging transportation for all purchases to ensure safety and compliance with legal standards.
