Why do I need a credit card to raise my bid on a car I already bid on?

A credit card is required to secure your bid and confirm your intent to purchase.

At RideSafely, every bid is backed by a refundable security deposit to ensure serious participation in our online car auctions.

How the Deposit Works

  • The required deposit is $600 or 10% of your bid amount, whichever is greater.
  • This deposit is tied to your highest active bid, not each individual bid.

Example

  • Initial bid: $6,000 → Required deposit: $600
  • Increased bid: $7,000 → Required deposit: $700
  • Additional deposit needed: $100

Why This Is Required

This policy helps:

  • Prevent non-serious or duplicate bidding
  • Maintain a fair and competitive auction environment
  • Ensure all participants are committed buyers

Important: Your deposit is fully refundable if you do not win the vehicle or choose not to proceed within the platform’s terms.
