What does “Current Bid: Auction Preliminary Bid” mean?

The “Preliminary Bid” is the initial bid you place on RideSafely, representing the maximum amount you are willing to pay for a vehicle. We use this bid to represent you at the auction, competing against other dealers interested in the same vehicle.

Please be aware that we bid incrementally on your behalf, up to your maximum bid amount; we do not start with your maximum bid. If your bid is the highest and the seller accepts it, and it is below your maximum, you will secure the vehicle at the winning bid amount.

Additionally, if your winning bid falls below your maximum but meets the seller’s reserve price, your maximum bid authorizes us to negotiate on your behalf up to that amount.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our RideSafely support team at (215) 289-0300. We’re here to help!
